As much as I enjoy building and video-making, I get bored with basic showcase videos. And while I enjoy great music from a wide variety of artists of many different styles, I like to express myself now and then too. The obvious next-step from all of that is to record and share some new music to go with some of those builds. All songs are original compositions, performed and recorded by me. Instruments may include piano, synthesizer, guitars, bass and drum machine.
All music creates a mood, some helps to tell a story. Often, I set out to create a tune of one feeling, perhaps even for a specific build, but things evolve organically and the tune might end up being unsuited to its original destination, perhaps finding a new home, or perhaps being left aside. This goal of ideal matching can mean a video gets indefinitely delayed - this can be frustrating but better than knowingly ruining a viewing experience. The videos on this page are duplicated elsewhere on this website too, and may feature my builds or guest builds.
Shifting between styles and influences keeps things interesting. So just as my builds vary from pristine to dilapidated to deathly, my music can be moody or upbeat, fun or spooky, or wherever interesting chord and melody progressions take it. My skills at composing, performing and mixing are limited, but hopefully over time more sounds and complexity can be added in.
